New Advanced Collagen-Boosting Hydrofiller

Since launching our collagen-boosting formulation five years ago, we have been delighted to find that you love the formulation as much as we do. However, since cosmetic science is constantly advancing in exciting ways, we’ve been eager to add newer peptides to the mix for even better results. After reading many validating studies, we typically test a few different ingredients to see how they perform with Droplette’s Hydrodermal Device.

Our Classic Formula

Five years ago, after attending the International Master Course on Aging Science academic conference—one of the world’s leading dermatology events—we developed our original Collagen formula based on the best available scientific evidence at that time and the recommendations of nearly a hundred dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons.

The original formulation in addition to its hero ingredient was supplemented with Argireline—a peptide that works on neuromuscular junctions similar to botulinum toxin, but in a topical application. We also incorporated vitamin C for its role in collagen synthesis and a rose oil extract rich in antioxidant compounds.

Our New Advanced Formula

More recently, there have been new collagen peptide ingredients that appear to offer significant improvement in efficacy over what was available half a decade ago. After extensive research evaluating dozens of collagen-derived ingredients, we identified a particularly promising extract from Icelandic Red Algae.

What makes this algae extract scientifically fascinating is its amino acid sequence. Collagen is characterized by a specific repeating structure of proline, hydroxyproline, and a variable amino acid (commonly alanine, valine, or glycine). This pattern is the structural signature of collagen molecules. The Icelandic Algae naturally contains this precise configuration.

The presence of hydroxyproline is particularly significant from a biochemical perspective. This modified amino acid rarely occurs in nature outside of collagen. Typically, your body naturally synthesizes hydroxyproline by modifying proline through prolyl hydroxylase enzymes, a process dependent on vitamin C. Our new Collagen-Boosting Hydrofiller delivers these amino acids in a bioavailable form, providing both immediate structural support and the essential building blocks for enhanced collagen production.

The algae extract also contains a new peptide that is emerging as a skincare powerhouse called Spermidine. Spermidine is a naturally occurring polyamine compound found in all living cells, including human skin. At the cellular level, spermidine promotes a process called autophagy, the cell’s self-cleaning process that removes damage and recycles components, which is key for healthy skin and combating signs of aging. This "cellular housekeeping" is crucial for maintaining a healthy, bouncy, collagen-rich complexion.

Recent studies suggest that topical application of spermidine may provide several benefits for skin:

First, it appears to enhance collagen synthesis, improving skin elasticity and reducing the appearance of fine lines. Secondly, spermidine demonstrates notable antioxidant properties, helping neutralize free radicals that contribute to premature aging. Additionally, preliminary research indicates that spermidine may help regulate melanin production, potentially addressing hyperpigmentation issues.

What makes spermidine particularly intriguing is that it declines with age, mirroring visible skin aging. Supplementing and delivering it to the deeper layers of the skin is crucial in supporting crucial cellular processes for healthy, youthful-looking skin.

We've also integrated Matrixyl 3000, a potent blend of palmitoyl tripeptide-1 and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7. Acting as cellular messengers, these peptides help repair the dermal matrix. Peer-reviewed studies show they significantly reduce wrinkle depth by boosting structural proteins and glycosaminoglycans.

Additionally, we've included Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)—a 53-amino acid polypeptide that binds to cell surface receptors and activates cellular proliferation. When applied topically, this shelf-stable EGF binds to EGF receptors (EGFR) on skin cells to stimulate cellular repair, wound healing, and recovery processes. These events translate to visible benefits: faster cell turnover for improved texture and tone, enhanced barrier function, improved moisture retention, reduced fine lines through increased dermal density, and better resilience from environmental stressors and UV damage.

The formula retains ascorbic acid (vitamin C) as a vital cofactor in collagen synthesis, along with the Botox-mimetic Argireline and a curated blend of antioxidant-rich botanical extracts to combat oxidative stress in skin cells.

While our original formula delivered excellent clinical results through immediate plumping effects and peptide-based Botox alternatives, our New Advanced Collagen-Boosting Hydrofiller takes skin rejuvenation even further. By adding Spermidine from Icelandic Red Algae, we can activate autophagy—your skin's natural self-renewal process—to clear damage and revitalize cells from within.

Simultaneously, Matrixyl 3000 boosts elastin and collagen synthesis, addressing the structural breakdown that drives visible aging.

This multi-dimensional approach targets key pathways in skin health: instant plumping, Botox-like smoothing, deep cellular renewal, and enhanced structural support. The result? A more comprehensive, long-lasting solution for juicy, bouncy, resilient skin—an innovation we're truly excited to share with you.
